Thanks for this list Brooke, think I'm going to enjoy diving into these over the next few weeks. Glad you mentioned the Cottage Fairy, I've been watching her videos for over a year, they are always so charming. I can recommend some other youtube channels that you and others might like. "Fairyland Cottage", slow living in rural Ireland with Niamh, again another charming watch. Also for the visual splendour, recommend "Her 86sq m" A family living the slow living lifestyle in the German countryside. The images are stunning and the dishes she cooks are beautiful. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everybody, I'm off for a walk in nature and listen to the Brad Montague conversation. Ciao xx
I hadn't come across the Cottage Fairy before but genuinely enjoyed her videos. I'll have to check out Fairyland Cottage too. I don't tend to spend much time on youtube but there was something really lovely about a visual approach to slow living. Thank you for the suggestion, and I hope the rest of your weekend was super lovely xx
The leeches were...a vibe. We were at this house in the middle of the wettest summer on record and there were parts of the property where the entire ground was moving with leeches. We later found out that the property name meant 'gully of leeches' in the Indigenous language, which was 100% accurate 😆
I don’t normally follow football but the woman’s World Cup has been interesting. Not only has it given women the opportunity to finally shine on the world stage, it has also highlighted the camaraderie and decently of the all teams. Especially as the Spanish FIFA organisation are behaving so disrespectfully. Good luck with The Dawdler.
100% Kate. I had never really watched much soccer apart from my kids, but the way the womens' teams played - with heart and passion and incredible skill *and* a genuinely kind and collegial approach - has inspired me too. And yes, what's happening with the Spanish officials is a disgrace. It shows just how much women have to endure in order to be 'taken seriously' and how much we all have to gain by supporting them. 💚
I totally agree. As an aside, I am glad that the days of standing (there were never seats) in the mud, week after week, watching my daughter play soccer (UK football) are over!
Just one suggestion. Rick Rubin talking to Dan Harris about Creativity, Habits, Self Doubt, Intuition & Meditation on the 10% Happier podcast (16th August).
So interesting that you mention Rick Rubin Helen. His name keeps coming up for me, which is a sure sign I need to take a listen to what he has to say. Thanks so much for the rec! 💚

What a joy to read this on a Sunday morning, coffee beside me, and a gently snoring Wilbur dog giving me a soundtrack. 😍
that sounds like utter perfection xx
Thank you, Brooke! Also, what a lovely poem (even with leeches, yikes!). Looking forward to the Dawdler serious.

What wonderful resources and insights thanks Brooke...I feel so at home living slow 🙏
I'm so glad to hear that Cathy. There's something so powerful about feeling at home in a space and an idea. So happy to have you here 💚
Thank you. Lots here for those moments when I want something new to explore.
You're so welcome! I hope there's some nice things to dip into over the week x
Love it!
Season 2 -episode 6 of the Bear was my favourite although I did love the whole season. That episode was special tv.
