It's always a mix of amazement and disbelief when I look back and see how much time has passed. I think its because it simultaneously feels like a long time and yet somehow I still think I'm, like, 25. 😆
I love your work Brooke and this is another one that really resonated with me. Long live us being happy in our self and skin (great piece by Jessica!).
I jumped over and read the article by Jessica Defino, how fascinating, I’m off to find some jojoba oil! And a big slow and happy birthday to you Brooke.
It really was a good read, wasn't it? My honey face wash experiment is going pretty well, and now I'm wondering whether I try jojoba oil too? Not that I use a lot of products (eye cream, night cream for day and night, sometimes a serum) but I love the idea of simplifying even more.
Happy Birthday Brooke! We have so many March birthday's in our family :-)
I love this list, especially No. 21 - You are allowed to change - I needed to be reminded of that today! Our priorities, values, interests...they can all change.
Happy Belated Birthday Brooke, I'm in my early 50's, so wish I was 41 again but trying to love the stage I'm at with no hangups. I'm at the stage where I'll definitely wear what's comfortable rather than fashionable (have for years) out with skinny jeans I say!!. Loved your list, thanks xx
Comfort wins for me these days too! It's such a joy to let go of some of those shoulds I've been carrying for so long. Thanks so much for being here Nicola xx
Happy birthday! I was with a friend recently who is in her mid-60s. She told a story and then said how she'd do it differently now, but she was so young then, just 38. As a fellow 41-year old, this reminder that age is so relative has really stuck with me.
Loved your list and find many of your points being true in my life aswell. I feel like getting older just makes things better (at 34 :) ). Also loved the podcast episode ❤️
Thanks Linnea, and I totally agree. I genuinely like getting older. Each decade so far has felt better than the last (even when they include big challenges). I wonder if that comes from being more comfortable in being ourselves, the older we get? Whatever it is, I like it! 💚
I absolutely think it has something to do with being more comfortable with being ourselves and, at least for me, caring less about what other people might think of me or my way of living.
HPD Brooke! Love that you used that photo from your visit to Maine! Meeting you at your Longfellows reading in Portland was such an important day for me. ❣️
Brooke, was wondering if I could find out what sort of sleep ring you have as I’ve been looking into getting one and would like personal recommendations please? TIA :)
Of course! I use the Oura ring (the old version) and am very happy with it. Strikes a balance between being informative and avoiding obsessive-levels of information pretty well I think. It's especially helpful for sleep, rest, HRV etc. Not so much for an in-depth activity tracker though. I'm not sure if the new version is different in that way, but if you're looking for something to track sleep, HRV etc, it's great. 💚
Happy Belated Birthday Brooke!!! I love how you “get it” and so eloquently share it!! 🤗
Thank you Tara! It was a good one 💚
Loved this list! All 41 hold true. Thank you.
Thanks so much Ellen xx
Happy birthday. 🎉 🍰 🥳🎈🎂🎁
😍😍 thank you!!
Love those things that make you realise time has passed - made me think of my own!

Yes, it's a big one for me at the moment too. I'm taking all the reminding I can! So glad to hear it resonated with you Carolyn. xx

Thanks so much Brooke. Looking through them I had thought that that was the one that looked most ‘you’ :)
I have a Fitbit but not wild keen on wearing it lol.
Hope you have a lovely rest of the week 🌿
