Really excited for this, it feels serendipitous that I’m dipping into Ross Gay’s Inciting Joy and Gabrielle Treanor’s 1% Wellness Experiment right now. Here’s to joy!

Agree! I am loving the teenage stage of my childrens lives. They are so fun, smart and funny. As someone who struggle through the early years, this is joy!

I'm right there with you, Kim. I found the early years incredibly challenging too, and this stage, while still challenging, is totally different and full of unexpected delights! Like you, I'm amazed by our kids every day - they've got a lot to say and a lot to teach us. 💚

Hi Brooke, Happy New Year, glad to have you back and glad you had a restful break. Looking forward to all The Tortoise offerings in 2024 and especially the 1% experiment, going to take some time in the next couple of days to think about what areas I want to focus on.

By the way, those salads looked scrumptious!!

Oh, and the salads were both *chefs kiss*

Thanks so much Nicola! Looking forward to hearing about your area/s of focus for the 1% experiment. I’m having to keep myself grounded and only choose two (my brain tried to keep adding more😆) but I think we’ve come to an arrangement now. 💚

Lovely to read you had a restful and break.

I took three weeks off of work this year, first time - and as my husband is now a teacher we had the time together as a family (even my 19 yo took three weeks off!)

Was a great reset and I am planning on doing it again.

I’m excited for the 1% project - your workshops are the reason I signed up as a paying subscriber and I look forward to doing this one with a larger group.

Happy new year Brooke, Ben, and family.

Thanks so much Michelle! It sounds like you and your family had a beautiful, restful break too - it's such a pleasure in life to be able to slow down and spend that time together isn't it? I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And yes! I'm really excited for the 1% this year too. Something different happens when we try to do things like that together I think, like some kind of collective curiosity and energy. Whatever it is, I'm really looking forward to diving in on Sunday. 💚

2023 was not my year but I know I came out of it stronger. I am focusing on fun (and centred) for 2024. I am putting some focus back into my physical health as my mental health took a lot of time in 2023. I am sitting with the 1% and need some inspiration to narrow it down.
