Ooh, thanks for this! Perfectly timed - I'm just about to nudge my husband into downsizing his wardrobe and this will help assuage his waste guilt! I hope you have a great couple of weeks' holiday and you get to turn the volume down on the hustle voice. Yourself and your family are always, ALWAYS going to be more important than even this lovely corner of the Internet 💕

Evening Brooke Enjoy this most precious time with your kids, school holidays were the best, my boys are grown now and we all have truly wonderful memories/feelings of time spent together when school routine was on pause

Greatly appreciate this community supporting connection

Truly you are a woman after my own heart!! The holiday wardrobe clear out, check. The old school uniforms by the front door, check. Listed on P&F fb page, check. Any takers? Nope. Check. Bag of good hand me downs for my cousin’s kids, check. Half full box for Upparel in the laundry, check. A couple of bags of good items to sell/list at a recycle shop. Another box for Salvos. And so many other random piles I don’t know what to do with 🤦‍♀️ Gosh it’s tricky to navigate and I get overwhelmed so it just sits here. But l laughed a lot through your post and the motivation to make a start 🙏 enjoy the holidays! 🌱

I read the Wool trilogy based on your recommendation (love post apocalyptic fiction) so will definitely keep an eye out for silo!

It hit a bit of a rough spot in Ep 2, but I watched Ep 3 last night and thought it was great. So far, still recommending it!

I have decluttered so much as am preparing to move house, it feels so good! I always try and think about where that stuff is going and don’t buy many new clothes. I dyed a pair of faithful summer trousers rather than ditch them and they’re still going strong.

Thank you so much for this! It’s so hard to know what to do with garments that are no longer wearable, and this post has given me so much to go on! We do 6-weekly clear-outs of my nearly 7 year-old daughter’s wardrobe and she absolutely loves doing it, working out what she needs next, passing things on to our smaller friends and reorganising what she has left. She’s a chip off the old block 😊.

Have a lovely time with the kids Brooke, looking forward to hearing how it was xx

Thank you Brooke! As always, on the mark and what I needed to read 💕 No hustle here...just 100% support for the radical idea of taking time and being intentional, even with the mucky and slightly uncomfortable bits 😉

Found this podcast episode to be a good discussion about textile “waste”...both thoughtful, thought provoking and hopeful: https://podcasts.apple.com/nz/podcast/haptic-hue/id1530400722?i=1000577986135

Thank you so much for this great article. You have made my day!!! I have a box of unwearable clothes and cloths that I had no idea what to do with. Your article appeals both to my creative side and my sustainable side. Bless you and thank you.
